CELT’s Music Teachers Hit the Right Note at Transformative Upskill Day

Newquay Tretherras hosts music teachers from across CELT.

This week, Newquay Tretherras hosted an inspiring 'Upskill Day' for music teachers from across Cornwall Learning Education Trust.

The trust’s lead educator for music, Bethany Wade and her team delivered a full day of activities.

Hands-on workshops included steel band, samba and African drumming. Participants from primary and secondary also explored music tech and collaborative planning.

The day even ended with a calming sound bath – a chance to reflect on our learning and on the importance of teacher and pupil wellbeing.

Bringing colleagues together like this is a perfect example of how CELT makes it possible to build bridges and share great practice for the good of all our pupils.

Now, more of our music teachers have the confidence to use a range of instruments in their classrooms. Excitingly, they also have the tools to establish vibrant ensembles in their schools.

So look out for new musical opportunities coming your way soon!
