A panel of experts has chosen the trust's 'living framework' as one of the best teacher development initiatives this year – a wonderful acknowledgement of how we are delivering our goals
We're extremely proud to announce that CELT has been shortlisted for this year’s Tes Schools Awards, amid a record-breaking number of nominations.
In a new category for 2026, our Learning Chronicles have been shortlisted as a 'Teacher Development Initiative of the Year'.
Since 2009, the Tes Schools Awards shine a spotlight on the outstanding work taking place in schools nationwide. They celebrate the individuals and teams making a meaningful impact on pupils, staff and their wider communities.
Rod Williams, CEO of Tes, commented: “Each category highlights schools and individuals who are not only driving meaningful change within their own settings, but also setting a benchmark for the wider sector. The Tes Schools Awards are designed to recognise and elevate this work.”
We believe CELT's Learning Chronicles are genuinely sector-leading. They are a true work of collaboration and co-production between our schools and a living framework that shapes learning in our classrooms every day. Leaders walk the corridors with the Chronicles in hand. They meet with colleagues to discuss teaching while turning its pages.
Since launching in September, more than 4,000 pieces of highly specific feedback have been provided to our teachers, captured and analysed through our bespoke in-house dashboard.
These insights are invaluable. They shape professional development, sharpen leadership focus, and enable us to measure the impact of our work with precision.
As a result, every classroom in each of our schools is underpinned by shared principles and consistent approaches. This means learners experience greater predictability, stronger relationships, higher expectations and a deeper sense of belonging.
This matters, because CELT's vision is to deliver an exceptional educational experience for every pupil, every lesson. To do that, we have to deliver an exceptional educational experience for our teachers too.
Empowering our people is central to our trust goals. Whoever wins the award, we are delighted that the work we are doing to meet this goal is being recognised nationally.
This year’s awards will be hosted by award-winning comedian, writer and presenter Katherine Ryan. Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on June 19th at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
We'll keep you posted!
