The event brought together colleagues from People Services, Communications, Administration, Governance, Finance and the Centre of Excellence, providing a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections and share expertise. It was also a chance to reflect on the collective impact of their work across our Trust.

Designed to support the teams that support schools, the day focused on developing stronger collaboration, building personal agency and ensuring every colleague understands how their role contributes to CELT's mission of delivering the very best outcomes for children and young people.

The day began with a keynote address from Trust Leader, Dan Morrow, who explored our Trust's approach to overcoming barriers to learning through strong relationships and effective support. His message centred on the importance of recognising individual contributions while maintaining a clear focus on CELT's wider purpose and impact.

A key theme throughout the day was helping colleagues connect their day-to-day responsibilities with our Trust's vision. Through activities focused on the concept of "I do this so that…", staff reflected on how their work contributes to supporting schools, colleagues and learners across CELT.

The programme also encouraged teams to deepen their understanding of each other's roles and responsibilities. By sharing how different services operate and contribute to trust-wide priorities, colleagues gained a greater appreciation of the expertise and support that underpins the work of CELT's family of schools every day.

Adding to the occasion were performances from learners at Penrice Academy, whose talent and creativity provided a powerful reminder of the young people at the centre of our Trust's work. Their contribution highlighted the importance of continuing to nurture and support the aspirations and achievements of every learner.

The event concluded with teams working together to create a Shared Services Commitment Statement, setting out the principles and ambitions that will guide their work over the coming year.

The inaugural Shared Services INSET Day was a celebration of shared purpose and professional excellence. By bringing colleagues together to connect, the event reinforced the vital role shared services play in enabling schools to thrive and ensuring CELT continues to deliver the best possible experience for learners across Cornwall.
