This years school staff INSET day highlighted the mission to deliver an exceptional educational experience to our learners, however, that isn’t possible unless our trust colleagues receive the same. These days give us the time we need to collaborate constructively while experiencing some inspiring and practical support.
During the course of the primary and secondary INSET day, there were speakers throughout for a range of subjects, including ; ambitious curriculum, deep dive into A03, igniting and inspiring curiosity (creative writing), planning for learning impact and strong foundations to name a few.
Our secondary staff were spoken too by Lucy Gambler, director of secondary, about ambitious curriculum for the morning of this event. Curriculum alignment gives us coherence, clarity and collective responsibility. The session set out CELT’s strategic direction for curriculum intent, implementation and assessment and what this means for all of our schools. It became an opportunity to not only understand the direction of travel, but the thinking behind it.
Our Primary school staff INSET day included a keynotes speech from Trust Lead Dan Morrows and director of inclusion, Amy Daniels. This became an opportunity to understand where we are going and why it matters. Together, we consider how we move from individual interventions to inclusive systems. From identifying needs to removing barriers, moving from a compliance to a culture where every learner is empowered to achieve, belong and succeed. This was followed by multiple sessions throughout the day lead by Anna Iliffe, Jo Luxford and Jo Pethick ranging through all sessions for our staff to achieve the best they can.
This event hosted staff from all 16 of our schools helping to better connect everyone within our trust and encouraging networking across the teams.
These days where we can all connect help us empower each other into achieving our goals, highlighting team work, shared ambitions and continuing to build a trust we are proud to be a part of.
