The day reflected CELT's commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience for every learner by investing in the professional development of the staff who support them. Bringing colleagues together created valuable opportunities for knowledge-sharing and professional growth, while reinforcing the Trust's shared vision and values.

Throughout the primary and secondary programmes, staff took part in a wide range of inspiring and practical sessions. Topics included ambitious curriculum design, assessment and progression, creative approaches to writing, planning for learning impact and developing strong educational foundations across all phases.

Secondary colleagues began the day with a keynote session led by Lucy Gambier, Director of Secondary Education, focusing on the trust's ambitious curriculum strategy. The session explored how curriculum alignment creates greater coherence, clarity and collective responsibility across schools. Colleagues gained a deeper understanding of CELT's strategic direction for curriculum intent, implementation and assessment, as well as the thinking that underpins this work.

Meanwhile, primary colleagues heard from Trust Lead, Dan Morrow, and Director of Inclusion, Amy Daniels, who outlined the trust's vision for inclusive education. Their keynote encouraged staff to consider how schools can move beyond individual interventions towards inclusive systems that enable all learners to thrive. Discussions focused on identifying and removing barriers to learning and creating cultures where every child feels they belong, can succeed and is empowered to achieve their potential.

The primary programme also included a series of workshops led by Anna Iliffe, Jo Luxford and Jo Pethick, offering practical strategies and professional insights to support colleagues in their roles and enhance outcomes for learners.

With staff attending from all 16 CELT schools, the event also provided an important opportunity to strengthen connections across our Trust. Colleagues shared best practice, expanded professional networks and explored ways to work together to address common challenges and opportunities.

By bringing people together in a spirit of collaboration and shared purpose, the INSET day highlighted the strength of the CELT community. Through professional learning and a collective commitment to excellence, colleagues continue to build a trust where both staff and learners can flourish.
