Local tiers governance

Individuals who sit on local tiers are referred to as ‘community champions’. Each school's local tier is made up of a combination of staff members, parents, carers and community members.

There are direct channels of communication between the chair of trustees, their Board and committees, the local tier and their community champions, and our governance services. Our Trust governance team co-ordinates the various committees and holds contact details for all community champions of schools within our Trust.

Please visit the individual school's website for their local tier information.

Become a community champion

Are you passionate about education and improving the lives of young people? Do you have a range of skills and experience to bring to the table?

We're looking for NEW community champions to join our schools' local tiers and are keen to hear from people with experience, expertise or an interest in any of the following areas:

  • Pupil and staff wellbeing
  • Community and family links
  • Safeguarding and SEND
  • Sustainability
What is a community champion?

Community champions are volunteers who support a local school with key aspects like wellbeing, community links or inclusion. Volunteers will represent the views of children, families staff and communities.

These roles have been designed to be flexible to fit around work and family commitments. Just a few hours each term can make a big impact.

As a community champion, you have the opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the future of our schools and ensuring that our learners receive an exceptional educational experience.

To request more information, contact our governance team.
