CELT Cup Showcases Exceptional Young Football Talent

The Trust's annual football tournament brought together primary schools from across Mid-Cornwall.

The annual CELT Cup delivered an exciting afternoon of primary school football.

In a fiercely contested boys’ competition, the eventual winners, Mount Charles School showed remarkable grit and composure throughout the tournament. Their consistent performances saw them finish just ahead of Newquay Junior Academy in a closely fought match, securing the trophy in impressive fashion. The narrow margin highlighted the high standard of play on display, with both teams pushing each other to excel right to the final whistle.

The event proved to be a fantastic occasion for all involved, offering a brilliant showcase of the learners’ talent, effort and sportsmanship.

The girls’ competition was equally inspiring, with St Mewan CP School emerging as winners after a series of excellent performances. Newquay Junior once again proved formidable opponents, finishing as runners-up after an exciting and closely contested campaign.

Beyond the results, the CELT Cup underlined the depth of footballing talent across our Trust’s primary schools. It also showcased the positive attitudes of the learners, who competed with enthusiasm, respect, and a genuine love for the game.

Overall, the tournament was a resounding success, celebrating not only achievement on the pitch but also the values of resilience and sportsmanship that define school sport.

Well done to all our learners taking place and working so hard!
