Young learners from CELT schools met Their Majesties at the Eden Project and St Austell Church, celebrating community, music and education.
The King visited St Austell, delighting pupils from two local schools with a memorable royal engagement. The visit highlighted the talent and community spirit of children across Cornwall Education Learning Trust.
At the Eden Project, learners from Luxulyan School performed “Cornwall My Home” to welcome the King and Queen. The performance marked the launch of the Big Lunch and Big Help Out initiatives, emphasising the importance of community involvement in St Austell.
Meanwhile, Reception pupils from Mount Charles School had the special chance to meet the Queen at Holy Trinity Church. The children presented a handmade bouquet and performed “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” creating a heartwarming moment for the royal visitors.
The royal visit also underscored the importance of education in St Austell, as CELT’s Director of Primary Education, Simon Pollard, discussed the impact of the St Austell Festival of Children’s Literature with the Queen, highlighting how local initiatives promote reading for pleasure.
This historic visit by the King to St Austell showcased the achievements of local learners and the value of fostering education and creativity among young learners.
