    Our partnerships

Cornwall Education Learning Trust is proud to collaborate with an inspiring network of organisations and individuals across Cornwall, the wider South West, and the UK.

These partnerships span education, business, community and environmental sectors, each bringing unique expertise, creativity, and resources that enrich our work.

By working together, we open doors to new opportunities for our pupils and students, support the professional growth of our staff, and help shape stronger, more connected communities.

Every partnership reflects our shared commitment to excellence, inclusion, and the belief that we achieve more when we work collaboratively.

    Plymouth Marjon University

Our partnership with Plymouth Marjon University is helping to transform teacher education across our region. Together, we are nurturing the next generation of educators by providing initial teacher trainees with high-quality placements in our 16 schools, supported by the expertise of experienced mentors. This collaboration also enables us to offer a flexible Level 5 Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning, helping aspiring teachers to balance work, study, and personal commitments.

For colleagues already within our organisation, the partnership opens access to master’s-level professional development, grounded in research-informed practice. By combining academic study with the practical experience available through our family of schools, we ensure that theory and practice work hand-in-hand to strengthen teaching across our communities.

    SW100

CELT is proud to support the SW100 leadership programme, a collaborative initiative uniting school and multi-academy trust leaders across Devon and Cornwall.

SW100 is about more than leadership training: it’s a collective moral mission to close the attainment gap for disadvantaged children, aligned with CELT’s ethos and goals as an organisation.

We actively support colleagues to participate in SW100, demonstrating our commitment to nurturing inclusive, visionary leaders to serve Cornwall’s communities.

“I feel humbled and privileged to have been part of SW100’s Cohort 2, which gave me the opportunity to spend a year working with like-minded school leaders from across the South West. We visited some incredible schools and learnt from inspirational educators in the UK and the US. I finished the year a different leader to the one I was 12 months before and I’ve never been more committed to change in our system. SW100 has reinforced my belief that teaching truly is the best job in the world.”

Claire White, Head of school at Bodmin College

    ResearchED

We are proud to host ResearchED Cornwall on an annual basis. CELT is committed to providing colleagues and local educators with access to leading researchers, thought-leaders and policy makers in education.

We recognise that accessing professional development events, typically hosted in major UK cities, can be challenging for educators in Cornwall. Therefore, our professional development programme and conferences have been created to help address the need for greater access to high-quality opportunities for our teachers and leaders.

    Diocese of Truro

Our participation in the Church of England’s Flourish programme is helping to develop spaces and communities through the partnership of education and church settings.

Young people’s voices are at the heart of the decision-making process in this partnership and we value the strategic leadership links between Bodmin College and the diocese in Bodmin to share insights at local, diocesan, and national levels.

“I am so excited for what the Flourish Network can bring. For me, thinking about the work of our Diocesan Board of Education, this sees us bring some of our strategic commitments to the fore. This is most certainly a powerful partnership – a partnership of schools, community, home, and church and supported by the partnerships within our central teams in our diocese – education, change and renewal and ministry, working together to make this happen.”

Lee Moscato, Diocesan director of education

    Breakfast club early adopters

In partnership with the Department for Education, five CELT schools have received funding and support to establish and maintain free breakfast clubs for their pupils.

The initiative is not only providing essential nourishment but also creating an environment where pupils can settle in, socialise and prepare to learn, laying the foundation for a positive school experience.

CELT is proud to be a part of this initiative that will help to inform the anticipated national roll-out of free access to breakfast clubs by the government.

“We are delighted to be one of the early adopter schools for this very welcome addition to our school offer. For Luxulyan School, the funding provided will have a hugely positive impact on all of the pupils in our community ensuring we can provide a healthy breakfast and supportive start to the day for our pupils.”

Nathan Cooper, headteacher at Luxulyan School

    Coreus

Our partnership with Coreus marks a significant step towards achieving our sustainability goals. By creating a net zero roadmap together, CELT plans to pursue net zero ahead of legislative requirements by taking a proactive stance.

We understand that this is not achievable alone and so we are working collaboratively throughout this project to ensure seamless stakeholder engagement.

“Working with CELT has been incredibly interesting and rewarding. With such a rich diversity of estate across Cornwall, getting their carbon reduction pathway aligned has at times required some out of the box thinking, which we really enjoy. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the trust on their journey to achieving Net Zero”.

Emma Sueref, Sustainability and Growth Director
