Why choose us for your teacher training?

Cornwall Education Learning Trust is a family of 16 academies in Mid-Cornwall. Our Trust is able to offer primary and secondary teaching placements within our schools, meaning we already have strong relationships in place to support trainees every step of the way.

We take a collaborative approach to teaching and learning, so you can expect opportunities to learn from teachers across our Trust to build on strengths, collective resources and leading research-based practice.

We understand the barriers to Higher Education in Cornwall, which is what has motivated us to offer courses in Cornwall in partnership with Plymouth Marjon University. Our Centre of Excellence at Penrice Academy will offer the opportunity to complete your training locally.

Successful applicants will benefit from Marjon Teacher Education Partnership's extensive experience spanning over 180 years, preparing them as teachers for Cornwall to excel and lead.

These are school-based Secondary Campus-based PGCEs. The course is designed to allow you more time training in school without extending the length of your training.   To accommodate the additional time in school, the curriculum is delivered flexibly with less university-based teaching. This route is suitable for trainees confident that they can take responsibility for learning the curriculum in this way.   Another feature of the programme is that you will benefit from taught sessions delivered by practising classroom teachers and leaders from Cornwall Education Learning Trust, who are able to introduce you to best practice in your training context.
